In bulk material handling systems, it is vital to know the exact position of valves, gates or actuators to ensure safe and controlled operation. A micro switch provides reliable mechanical or electronic feedback of valve shaft positions (open/closed) or other discrete states within the system.
WorkIng PrIncIple
When a valve or gate rotates or moves, the actuator shaft or lever interacts with the micro switch. Once movement completes, the micro switch closes or opens its contacts and sends a signal to the control system. This allows automation systems to verify that the intended action (valve open/closed) has succeeded, helping prevent floods, blockages or unsafe operations.
